Swift Current

The name %u201CSwiftcurrent%u201D is thought to have come from the Blackfeet term, %u201CIkami-awaki-mishka%u201D which means %u201Cfast running water\". In 1911, the Great Northern Railway established a teepee camp at this site. Early guests arriving on horseback slept on army cots in full-sized replicas of the 23-pole Blackfeet Indian teepees.The Swiftcurrent Motor Inn and Cabins is a Tourist hotel. Located in Glacier National Park area. Shopping is accessible by bus/taxi and the nightlife/restaurants are easily accessible by taxi or bus from the hotel.
