About This Hotel
"The Renton Homestead" has the WOW factor. We walked in back in 2005 and thought "Wow we could live here!" When we tried to describe where we lived locals would always say "Oh you mean the Renton Homestead". Built in the 1930s by local timber merchants and building firm Rentons the homestead uses the best of native timbers to create a truly restful and peaceful ambiance. The high stud, beautiful wood finishing and plush carpet gives the home real character. The previous owners had the house for 29 years and enhanced it by adding a second story with modern bathroom and a beautiful tongue and groove rimu ceiling. At the same time they converted one of the bedrooms into an efficient modern kitchen with native timber paneling and a marvelous walk in pantry. The garden was developed from open lawns to a forest of rhododendrons, camellia, azalea with a solid structure of conifers and a commemorative kauri planted on the birth of their first son. It shelters the house from road noise and provides a tranquil environment for relaxation after a days travel. This 1930s bungalow features a beautiful private garden, a complimentary airport shuttle service and free WiFi. Bicycle rental is also available.
All accommodation includes heating, electric blankets and free toiletries. The cottage includes a fully equipped kitchen.
