The Anchor Inn

The Anchor Inn provides ensuite accommodation 7.5 km from Taunton and 1km from Oake. The property is less than 10 minutes from the motorway and features a bar, as well as an award-winning restaurant serving British cuisine. The Anchor is situated on the edge of Exmoor national park and the Quantocks, famous for their wild Exmoor ponies are within a 10 minute drive. The property offers fabulous local walks on your doorstep, a beautiful country situation and a childrens playground. The Anchor is a fabulous base for exploring Somerset then returning for a fabulous meal and welcome.

Guest rooms in the inn are equipped with a 39" TV, a kettle and mini fridge. Rooms include a private bathroom with free toiletries, while all rooms have outdoor, covered seating. Free WIFI is offered in the public areas of the Inn, but service is poor within the rooms themselves. We would not recommend attempting to work via the WIFI from our rooms for example.

An in-room continental breakfast is available every morning at the property on request. A Full English breakfast is available within 1 mile at the local golf course from 8am.

The Inn offers a reduced room rate on Monday and Tuesday evenings due to the reception, bar and restaurant being closed. The Inn is fully open from Wednesday - Sunday.

Exeter is 40 km from the accommodation, while Weston-super-Mare is 40 km away. The nearest airport is Exeter International Airport, 35 km from the property. Please inform Anchor Inn in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation.

Our standard check-in is from 17:30 Wednesday to Saturday and from 15:00 on Sunday, Monday & Tuesday. However, guests are very welcome to have an early check-in on request. This can be arranged for a lunchtime arrival during opening hours, or an afternoon arrival, with your key being placed in our key safe. You will require a code to access the key safe. PLEASE NOTE that due to current staffing levels, the Inn reception, bar and restaurant is currently closed on a Monday & Tuesday all day. Guests will self check-in via the key safe on these days. A reduced room rate is offered on a Monday & Tuesday.
