Peacock Houseboats

Peacock Houseboats are a Group of Houseboats moored on the top site of Nagin Lake, one of the most beautiful and peaceful of all the lakes Made of fragrant cedar and well furnished with antique wooden furniture, the ornately carved houseboats in the Peacock group reflect a time gone-by reminiscent of the days of the British Raj.Every houseboat has a spacious carpeted sitting room, a dining room and bedrooms with western bathrooms attached. Each houseboat has a houseboy who is available to serve meals, make the beds, clean the rooms and provide complimentary tea at any time.All have signs on both the lakeside and landside that clearly identifies each houseboat as part of the Peacock Group of Houseboats. Every houseboat is deluxe class and all are equally beautiful, although there are a few differences between them. The houseboats have two, three or four bedrooms. We accommodate our guests on the houseboat best suited to the number and size of each family or group. All the houseboats are equal in terms of quality,comfort and food. Each houseboat has a cushioned verandah from which guests can look out over the lake. Peacock Houseboats feature fragrant cedar houseboats moored over the beautiful Nagin Lake in Kashmir, with almond trees and the Himalayan mountains as a backdrop. Each houseboat features a common living room, dining room. Meals and free tea are served by the houseboy.

Decorated with antique wooden furnishings, rooms all come with a fan and Western-style bathrooms with hot-water showers. A cushioned verandah overlooks the mountains and lake. It is especially pretty in the mornings when a thin mist covers the waters.

Peacock Houseboats is 5 km from downtown Srinagar and 23 km from Srinagar Airport. Attractions like Pahalgam Town, Yusmarg Meadow and Gulmarg Town are within 75 km away.

Guests can watch satellite TV in the carpeted living room, or enjoy the warm sunshine at the boats sun deck. A 5-minute shikara (wooden boat) ride takes guests to The Nigeen Club, which features a gym and scenic cafe.

A daily Western breakfast is served in the shared dining room. For lunch and dinner, choose between Kashmiri, Mughlai, Western or Indian cuisines. Packed lunches and room service are also available.
