Haiku Inn

Built in the late 1860s the Inn was once home to the local plantation doctor and his family. The home and the grounds still carry the vintage feel and the original architecture of old Hawaii. Plantation era is about to come to an end here in the islands of Hawaii and Maui will be closing the last sugar plantation at the end of 2016.

Haiku Inn, speaks of that era of missionary families, colonial homes, and plantation life. We maintain the feeling for a reason, as there are very few locations in the state where you can see yet experience a home of this era.

We are centrally located on the North Shore with a brief walk to restaurants, markets, shops and services. We lovingly restored the old home and continue to our stewardship daily. Come experience the days of gone by, and the real meaning of Aloha and the Hawaiian spirit. Rest and relax in an atmosphere of peace and calm, yet close to Paia, Makawao and the big surf beaches. All of Maui is easy access really and we are right off Hana Hwy. We are about an hours drive to the summit for sunrise, minutes to bike tours, ziplines, horseback rides, sea turtle viewing and even waterfalls with swimming holes. Mauis best! Nestled in the historic plantation town of Haiku, Hawaii, this charming guest house offers an on-site garden where guests can relax and enjoy fresh growing fruits. Free Wi-Fi is provided in the lobby.

Built in the 1870s for a pineapple plantation doctor, this historic home provides guest accommodations in a bed and breakfast setting. All rooms at Haiku Plantation Inn are furnished with an eclectic mix of antique pieces, Hawaiian quilts, and authentic Hawaiian art. Each room is equipped with an en suite bathroom.

The guest lounge area boasts tropically themed furnishings, travel guides and reading materials, a flat-screen TV, and an audio and video library. Guests can enjoy views of the garden and its century-old trees out on the spacious patio.

A complimentary continental breakfast consisting of a variety of selections such as baked goods and pastries, fresh fruits, cereals, yogurts, and jams is served daily. An all-day tea counter is also available for guests at Haiku Plantation Inn.

The surrounding countryside includes several attractions, such as cane fields, the last pineapple plantation, and organic farms. Hana Highway, which offers a scenic drive along the shore, is just a 2-minute drive from the guest house, and Haleakala National Park is a 45-minute drive. Kahului Airport is a 24-minute drive away. Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.
