This used to be my family home and I converted it into a luxury hostel, which opened in May 2014. I wanted to provide a luxury and homely accommodation in this lovely mountain village. I designed and built this luxury hostel with adults in mind, with all the homely comforts like a big open fire, large cosy couches, hot high powered showers, beds designed to give privacy and comfort (solid hardwood beds, hotel grade mattresses and 100% egyptian cotton linen). We want our guests to relax, feel at home and enjoy themselves while they are here. Nestled within the Ballyhoura Mountains, the award winning Ballyhoura Hosel features a Scandinavian sauna, free private parking on site and a fully equipped communal kitchen. Other benefits include bike hire, a drying room for clothes and a communal lounge with an open fire and a TV. Each room comes with handcrafted beds made of solid hardwood, full length mirrors and wardrobes. Egyptian cotton bed linen is also included. Additional facilities include free WiFi throughout the common areas, a sauna, table football and board games. An outdoor terrace with BBQ is available for the warmer months. There are pubs, shops and a restaurant nearby and activities available in the area include hill walking, mountain biking, horse riding and clay pigeon/air rifle shooting. There is a secure bike lock up, bike wash area and drying room.. Cork, Shannon and Limerick city can all be reached within a 45-minute drive.
