Thropton Demesne Farmhouse B&B
A 200-year-old farmhouse set in a quiet location on the edge of the village of Thropton, this B&B has free Wi-Fi and stunning views across the River Coquet valley to the Simonside Hills. The bedrooms at Thropton Demesne Farmhouse B&B are tastefully decorated in a traditional style and have a fireplace, flat-screen TV and tea/coffee making facilities. The bathrooms have power showers, luxurious towels, bathrobes on request and complimentary toiletries. Breakfast is served in the conservatory and/or the dining room. We ideally serve breakfast at 8.30am although we could serve earlier by prior notice. Breakfast includes fresh fruit, yoghurt, choice of cereals, fruit juice, tea, coffee and a range of cooked items such as omelettes, stuffed croissants, eggy bread, porridge, toast and preserves. There is some construction work for 3 houses and the conversion of old farm buildings taking place on adjoining land which can cause some noise, but only at normal working times. This is beyond our control but we feel guests should know of this. The ancient market town of Rothbury is just 2 miles from Thropton Demesne Farmhouse and Northumberland National Park is a 5-minute drive away. There is free parking at the property. Fishing on the River Coquet for salmon, sea trout and brown trout is less than 1 mile away. Day tickets available from Northumbrian Anglers Federation. The magnificent Cragside House and Estate are 3 miles from us and historic Alnwick with its world famous castle and garden 20 minutes away by car. This property will not accommodate hen, stag or similar parties. Please inform Thropton Demesne Farmhouse B&B in advance of your expected arrival time.
